If you can, take a moment to contact our elected representatives about the importance of The Layers.

Remember, they are our elected representatives, their job is to serve the community.

It is the District Council (SCDC - Dunnett and Fisher) that has published the plan. However, they are presenting it as 'education driven', which is an issue for Suffolk County Council (Smith).

Our MP is a Minister for the environment, and should care about a devestating impact on an historic landscape.

The Town Council are also there to represent us. Currently Dunnett and Fisher are on Saxmundham Town Council, Dunnett is leader.

Your letter or email should make clear how much The Layers mean to you personally and why you think that this historic community space should be preserved.

Although you may not get an immediate positive response, there is increasing evidence that appeals from individuals and community groups can effect planning decisions.
